GitHub, the largest code-hosting system in the world with over 28.8 million repositories, is now available for use from the campus DevOps team and the Office of the CIO.

The web-based Git repository hosting service contains repositories such as the Linux kernel and the C++ programming language and offers all of the distributed revision control and source code management (SCM) functionality of Git as well as adding its own features.

The campus GitHub instance is provided through The GitHub Campus Program for non-commercial and academic use provides the UCSB GitHub instance.
