The Women in Technology group has scheduled FERPA training with an emphasis on Information Technology.
FERPA is the law that protects student data. Many UCSB employees have taken the FERPA training offered by the Registrar office at some point in their careers, and this training is an opportunity to refresh your knowledge on data security.
The training will be held December 2 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in the SRB Multi-Purpose Room or via Zoom at https://ucsb.zoom.us/j/809168859.
Sara Cook, the Associate Registrar for Academic and Student Services, will lead the meeting. Sara presented on the topic for Student Information Systems & Technology (SIS&T) one year ago and everyone found it relevant despite previous training.
Sara will focus this presentation on information systems to make it more relevant for IT functions.
