Zoom released an update to their application for macOS and Windows, 4.6.11 (20559.0413), on Sunday, April 12, 2020 that included restoring functionality to third-party file sharing. The changes and a link to the updates are below.
Changes to existing features
- Re-enable third-party file sharing
- Users on the Zoom desktop client 4.6.11 will be able to share files from third-party platforms, such as Dropbox or OneDrive if configured for their Zoom account
New and enhanced features
- Support for meeting password requirements
- When scheduling a meeting, users on Zoom client 4.6.11 will be required to set a password that meets the requirements set by their account owner or admin set in the Zoom web portal
- Show message preview
- Users can enable or disable a setting to show a message preview for chat messages
Resolved issues
- Resolved an issue where the complete version number was not displayed
- Minor bug fixes
An update to their Android application was also posted. An update for iOS is TBD.
